“Prime Minister Modi Sets Record with 13th Highest State Honor from Egypt, Cementing His International Standing”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, during his nine-year tenure, has been honored with numerous international awards, showcasing his global recognition and influence. The most recent accolade bestowed upon him is the esteemed ‘Order of the Nile’ by Egypt’s President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, marking the 13th highest state honor granted by various countries to PM Modi.
Among the notable international awards received by Prime Minister Modi, the Legion of Merit from the US Government holds significance. This prestigious recognition, awarded during his 2020 visit, is granted for exceptional meritorious conduct and outstanding achievements. Furthermore, PM Modi was honored with the Ebakl Award by the Republic of Palau, presented to him by President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr., during his visit to Papua New Guinea. Another notable distinction is the Companion of the Order of Fiji, the highest honor bestowed by Fiji, which PM Modi received in May 2023, highlighting his global leadership.
In December 2021, Bhutan bestowed upon PM Modi the esteemed Order of the Druk Gyalpo, the country’s highest civilian decoration. This was followed by Bahrain’s King Hamad bin Isa bin Salman Al Khalifa presenting him with the King Hamad Order of the Renaissance in 2019, signifying a top honor in the Gulf region. Additionally, PM Modi was honored with the Order of the Distinguished Rule of Nishan Izzuddin, the highest award for foreign dignitaries in Maldives in the same year.
Russia also recognized PM Modi’s achievements by awarding him the prestigious Order of St. Andrew in 2019, the highest civilian honor of the country. Similarly, the United Arab Emirates conferred upon him the Order of Zayed Award, their highest civilian honor, during the same year. Palestine recognized PM Modi’s contributions by awarding him the Grand Collar of the State of Palestine Award in 2018, while Afghanistan honored him with the State Order of Ghazi Amir Amanullah Khan in 2016, the highest civilian honor of the country. Moreover, Saudi Arabia presented him with the Order of Abdulaziz Al Saud, their highest honor for non-Muslim dignitaries.
In addition to state honors, PM Modi has also been recognized by various organizations and foundations. In 2021, he received the Global Energy and Environment Leadership Award from the Cambridge Energy Research Associates (CERA) for his commitment to global energy and environmental leadership. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation awarded him the Global Goalkeeper Award in 2019 for his transformative Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (Clean India Mission). Furthermore, he received the prestigious Champions of The Earth Award, the United Nations’ highest environmental honor, in 2018. In the same year, PM Modi was honored with the Seoul Peace Prize, recognizing his contributions to global harmony, reconciliation, and world peace.
