CM Adityanath Leads Efforts to Combat Gangs Exploiting Children for Begging, Uttar Pradesh Government Takes Firm Action

Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has emphasized his government’s commitment to eradicating child begging and ensuring a brighter future for rescued children. During an event where certificates and educational kits were distributed to children saved under the ‘Mukhya Mantri Bal Seva Yojana’ and ‘Smile Project,’ Adityanath acknowledged that begging was once a part of Indian tradition in ancient times. However, he stressed that in today’s context, it poses significant risks to children’s futures.

Adityanath highlighted the government’s ongoing efforts to combat gangs involved in coercing children into begging. He expressed satisfaction with the rescue of 102 children from this plight and lauded the collaborative approach with voluntary organizations in nurturing and supporting these children. The Smile Project serves as a platform to facilitate their growth and development.

Since 2017, the Basic Education Council has been instrumental in providing essential items such as clothing, bags, books, sweaters, shoes, and socks to all children in need, enabling even the most impoverished among them to access education. Remarkably, this initiative has benefitted a staggering 1.91 crore children across the state.

The chief minister emphasized the importance of optimism and merit in achieving success in life. He urged individuals to adopt a positive outlook and expressed his determination to eliminate beggary in Lucknow by focusing on merit-based opportunities.

In conclusion, Yogi Adityanath’s administration is actively addressing the issue of child begging in Uttar Pradesh. By implementing initiatives like the Mukhya Mantri Bal Seva Yojana and Smile Project, the government is not only rescuing children from the clutches of gangs but also providing them with educational resources and support. Through collaboration with voluntary organizations and the provision of essential items, the government aims to empower these children to make positive contributions to society. Adityanath’s vision for a beggary-free Lucknow rests on the principles of optimism and merit, ultimately ensuring a brighter future for the children of Uttar Pradesh.
